Raleigh Jazz Orchestra Big Band

After a 10-year hiatus from performing, brought about by a family crisis in 1994, Tom Bernett has once again returned to his roots in music. Recently, he was fortunate to be asked to play drums with the Raleigh Jazz Orchestra Big Band in the preparation and performance of a joint "classics and jazz" concert with the Raleigh Symphony.

The Raleigh Jazz Orchestra is a grant-funded, 17-piece big band playing transcriptions of the great, contemporary big bands such as Maynard Ferguson, Buddy Rich, Thad Jones-Mel Lewis, etc. The RJO is made up of professional musicians, music teachers, and music professors from the region's major universities (NC State, UNC, Duke, etc.)






We are currently undergoing a shift in our business. We have moved our offices and are refocusing our primary business efforts on Swing Street, our 9-piece swing band.

We still produce corporate marketing and training videos and this website will soon be redeveloped to focus on that field. For information concerning Swing Street, please see:
